How much power can I expect?

The standard M42/M44 engine produces approx. 136/140hp. Although not guaranteed, when the GKD Supercharger Kit is fitted to a standard healthy engine you should expect to receive over 200hp.  We generally see around 220hp and some customers with highly modified internals produce nearly 290hp.

Is the GKD Supercharger Kit suitable for left hand drive & right hand drive cars?

Yes, this kit fits both LHD and RHD cars.

Will the GKD Supercharger fit a 6 Cylinder BMW engine?

No, at this time we do not provide supercharger kits for the BMW 6 Cylinder range of engines, only the 4 Cylinder M42 & M44 engines.

What payment methods do GKD accept?

Payments can be made by Paypal, credit card (via Paypal) or Bank Transfer, whichever you prefer. Payments should be made in GBP pounds.

Which cars can you fit the GKD Supercharger to?

Although designed for the BMW E36 318is/Ti and Z3 fitted with the M44 engines, with just a few modifications the GKD Supercharger can also be fitted to the BMW E30 318is and has successfully been fitted to bespoke applications such as retro-fitted M42 or M44 engines in the BMW 2002.

Which Supercharger works with the GKD Supercharger kit?

The GKD Supercharger kit is designed to work with the Eaton M45 Supercharger as fitted to the BMW Mini Cooper S.  Please note the Eaton M45 Supercharger fitted to the Mercedes is NOT compatible.

The GKD Supercharger Kit utilises a CAD designed, CNC machined and fully TIG welded aluminium plenum and intake manifold that is professionally designed to ensure that all OEM components fit with a minimum of fuss. To complete the installation, you will also need to choose a management/fuelling option.

Which countries do GKD ship to?

Can I retain my existing ECU and Injectors?

Yes, but for normal road use only. By using the BEGI 2025 the existing ECU can be retained and depending on the Injectors fitted they may also be retained. However, Injectors with the air flow shroud need to be swapped for those without. The Supercharger Plenum is designed to accept standard sized 14mm Injectors.

Which engine does the GKD Supercharger kit fit?

This kit is designed for the BMW 4 Cylinder 16 Valve M44 engine with 19mm injectors. The early M42 engines can be used but would need the pulleys swapped for the later engine serpentine pulleys and a small bracket manufactured to support the weight of the supercharger.

What fuelling options are available?

There are two fuelling options. If you wish to retain the OEM ECU (DME) and Injectors then the FMU (Fuel Management Unit) such as the BEGI 2025 may be your best option (the BEGI 2025 is suitable for normal road use only). For ultimate performance it is highly recommended to fit an aftermarket ECU such as that offered by k-data (www.k-data.org) along with aftermarket 440cc injectors. A starter MAP is available from GKD for the k-data ECU free of charge.
